To Download and install Sage 50 Payroll

1. Start by clicking on the link below in order to download the update:

7. Enter a password for the manager username, then confirm it. You are required to enter this every time you log on with the manager username.
8. Next, enter a security question and the answer, and then click Next.
9. If you have registered with HMRC for online submissions, you need to enter your details, and then click Next.
10. Finally, Click on Finish enter the password you have created, and then click OK.
11. In order to close the list of default reminders, click on Mark as Complete.
12. Finally, in case you have more than one company, click File then click New Company, and repeat Steps 3 to 9.

To Share your data

1. From within Sage 50 Payroll, click Help.
2. Next, Click About, then make a note of the Data Directory, not comprising of  the Payroll folder.

4. Finally, Share the Payroll folder making sure that the network users have at least modify access.

1. Start by creating a folder within the server in order to hold the data, for example: Sage Payroll Data and make sure other network users have at least modify the access to that folder.
2. Within this folder you need to create another folder in order to hold the company data, for example COMPANY_001. In case you have more than one company, you can create a folder for each one of them.
3. Go to the Sage 50 Payroll and click on File.
4. Click Relocate data and then go to the folder you have created within your server.
5. Now, Click OK then click OK again.
6. Click Help then click About.
7. Within the Program Details, check that the Data Directory now displays the path to the server.

To Install on the client systems and connect to the data

1. Launch the  Sage 50 Payroll and enter your activation details then click Next.
2. Now, Click on Select an existing set of Windows data then click on Next.
3. Go to the location of the COMPANY_001 folder within the server.
4. Double-click PAYDATA then double-click on Payroll.mdb.
5. Now, Click Next then click Finish and then log in using the manager password that you have set up earlier.
6. In order to add an additional company, click on File then click New Company and repeat Steps 3 to 6.
